Bonte Wins in Singles for Bentley against St. Mary’s (Texas)

SATELLITE BEACH, Fla. – Junior Max Bonte (Bradenton, Fla./St. Stephens) won his singles match for the second straight day, but the Bentley men's tennis team fell to St. Mary's (Texas) 6-1 on Wednesday.

The Falcons, now with a 3-3 record on the season, were playing their second of three scheduled matches on their Florida spring break trip.

The Rattlers, who compete in the Lone Star Conference and were an NCAA Tournament team last season, improved to 7-4 on the season.

Bonte defeated Ryan Koth in No. 2 singles in three sets, 6-4, 5-7, 7-6.

The other singles matches for Bentley had Jordan Soifer (Stamford, Conn./Westhill) in No. 1, Gabe Horwitz (Lake Oswego, Ore./Lake Oswego) in No. 3, Nikolai Pran (Oslo, Norway) in No. 4, Liam Marr (Franklin, Mass./Franklin) in No. 5 and Tawan Rattaseri (Bangkok, Thailand) in No. 6.

Bonte and Soifer had a close match in No. 1 doubles, but fell to Roth and Alvaro Soler 7-6.

Horwitz and Pran teamed up in No. 2 and Marr and Noah Monsanto (Woodbridge, N.J./Woodbridge) were paired in No. 3.

Bentley will close out its trip on Thursday when they visit Florida Southern at 3:00 PM.
