Aulson, Weitz and Soifer Post Wins but Bentley Falls to Adelphi 5-2

ANODVER, Mass. – Graduate students Connor Aulson (Groveland, Mass./Pentucket) and Daniel Weitz (Roslyn, N.Y./Roslyn) and junior Jordan Soifer (Stamford, Conn./Westhill) posted wins, but the Bentley men's tennis team suffered a 5-2 defeat to Adelphi on Saturday on Senior Day.

The match was moved indoors to the Spark Fitness and Tennis Club in Andover due to rain throughout the day.

The Falcons men's tennis program celebrated Senior Day before the match, as Aulson, Weitz and Alex Novins (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) were honored for the contributions to the program on and off the court during their careers.

Aulson and Weitz posted a win in No. 1 doubles, as they defeated Adelphi's Mark Jovanovic and Gabriel Balestero 7-6.

Adelphi though won the No. 2 and No. 3 matches to claim the doubles point. Bentley's other doubles pairings were Novins and Soifer in No. 2 and Gabe Horwitz (Lake Oswego, Ore./Lake Oswego) and Noah Monsanto (Woodbridge, N.J./Woodbridge) in No. 3.

In singles, Aulson posted a 7-5, 7-5 victory over Balestero in the No. 2 match. Soifer won the No. 3 match in three sets over Adi Saginayev 6-2, 2-6, 7-6.

The rest of Bentley's lineup in singles consisted of Weitz in No. 1, Novins in No. 4, Horwitz in No. 5 and Monsanto in No. 6.

Bentley (10-8, 2-2 NE10) will be back in action on Monday when they host Stonehill at 3:00 PM.
