Bentley suffered its first defeat of the fall season with an 8-1 setback to Babson on Friday.

Freshman Max Bonte (Bradenton, Fla./St. Stephens) claimed Bentley's win in singles in No. 3. He defeated Brady Anderson in three sets, 6-3, 2-6, 10-6.

Other scores saw sophomore Gabe Horowitz (Lake Oswego, Ore.) go to three sets in No. 4 against Gabe Cestero. Cestero won the first set 6-3 before Horowitz took the second set 6-1. But Cestero won the third set tiebreak, 10-8.

Horowitz and Jordan Soifer (Stamford, Conn./Westhill) battled Cestero and Ole Lepsoe in No. 3 doubles, but Babson's pair emerged with an 8-7 victory.

The Falcons will next be in action this weekend at the Merrimack Invitational.
