Bentley Sweeps Past Stonehill 7-0

Easton, Mass. – The Bentley University men's tennis team swept past Stonehill on Tuesday with a 7-0 victory to improve its record to 1-1 on the season.

The Falcons earned the doubles point by winning the No. 1 and No. 3 matches, then swept all six singles matches to record the 7-0 victory.

Bentley's effort in doubles was led by the team of seniors Daniel Weitz (Roslyn, N.Y./Roslyn) and Mauricio Fadul (Miami, Fla.). They won the No. 1 match over Stonehill's Luke Nickerson and Aleksander Lazowski, 6-1.

In singles, senior Connor Aulson (Groveland, Mass./Pentucket) picked up a two sets win over Nickerson in the No. 1 position by a 6-4, 6-1 score.

The No. 2 match saw freshman Max Bonte (Bradenton, Fla./St. Stephens) record a 6-3, 6-4 win over Lazowski.

The No. 3 and No. 4 matches also went Bentley's way in straight sets. Sophomore Jordan Soifer (Stamford, Conn./Westhill) powered past Stonehill's Joey Conrod 6-4, 6-2 in No. 3, and freshman Gabe Horowitz (Lake Oswego, Ore./Lake Oswego) got the better of Liam Bevens in No. 4, by a 6-3, 6-2 score.

After Tuesday's win, the Falcons are next scheduled to be back on the courts on Saturday at Le Moyne.
