Bio

A two-time Olympian for the Dominican Republic, Dorian McMenemy joined the Bentley University coaching staff prior to the 2022-23 season and is currently in her second season with the Falcons.

McMenemy, a member of the Dominican Republic’s National Swim Team from 2011-20, swam the 100 butterfly at the 2012 London Olympics when she became the first female to represent the Dominican Republic in Olympic swimming. She also competed in the 50 freestyle during the 2016 Rio Games and owns the national records in the D.R. for the 50 fly and the 50 free.

McMenemy’s international experience also includes competing in the Nanjing Youth Olympics, where she placed 15th in the 50 fly, and earning Dominican Republic Female Swimmer of the Year honors.

McMenemy, who is from Northborough, Mass., competed collegiately from 2015-20 for Wagner College. She earned silver in the 50 free at the 2020 Northeast Conference championships, is the school record holder in the 200 free relay and the 200 medley relay, is the Northeast Conference record holder in the 200 medley relay and was a two-year captain for the Seahawks.

In 2017, McMenemy was named the National Congress State Games of America Woman Athlete of the Year and the Bay State Games Athlete of the Year.

An accounting specialist for John Hancock Investments, McMenemy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting in 2019 and her Master of Science in accounting a year later.  She received the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award in 2020.
