Falcons triumphant against Babson on Senior Day
WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley men's swimming & diving team earned a win on Senior Day with a 168-126 triumph over Babson Sunday afternoon.
Before the start of the dual, the Falcons celebrated their senior members: Wellington Chen, Jake Eastman, Peter Epp, Rodrigo Gomez, Andrew Marcus, Andrew Matjucha, and Sergio Torres.
The dual began with Bentley winning the 200-medley relay. Daniel Lehr, Kenneth Ryu, Joey Twomey, and Carter Ferrara combined for a time of 1:37.54.
Ryu also won two individual events Sunday: the 100-breaststroke (1:00.62) and the 200-breaststroke (2:16.82). Leighton Wielgoszinski was victorious in two individual events. He touched the wall in 10:04.11 to win the 1,000-freestyle, and his 4:51.70 time in the 500-freestyle was good for first place.
Lehr won the 100-backstroke by more than two seconds, posting a time of 53.19 seconds. Ferrara won the 100-freestyle with a time of 48.73 seconds, and Jakub Zukowski was close behind in second place with a time 49.67 seconds.
Daniel Ivanchikov placed first in the 200-freestyle by timing in at 1:47.82.
Bentley closed the meet by winning the 200-freestyle relay. Chen, Zukowski, Ferrara, and Ivanchikov teamed up for a time of 1:28.90.
The Falcons' final home meet of the season is Thursday, Jan. 25, against Bridgewater State.
