Bentley men top St. Michael's in first meet of 2024
COLCHESTER, Vermont – Eight different Falcons won individual events as the Bentley men's swimming & diving team beat St. Michael's, 172-116, on the road Tuesday afternoon.
Leighton Wielgoszinski won the 1,000-freestyle with a time of 10:12.18, and Daniel Ivanchikov's 200-freestyle time of 1:48.34 was good for first place.
Daniel Lehr won the 50-backstroke by timing in at 24.87, nearly 1.5 seconds ahead of the next swimmer.
Kenneth Ryu won the 50-breaststroke (27.96), and Liam Harris was second in the event (29.34).
Eddy Erofeyev took first place in the 200-butterfly by touching the wall in 2:11.63. Peter Epp placed second with a time of 2:13.85.
Matthew Walden won the 200-backstroke (2:02.65), while Griffin Keliher took second (2:05.53). Andrew Matjucha was the top swimmer in the 500-freestyle (4:55.67).
Owen Angkatavanich won both diving events. His 1-meter score was 122.10, and his 3-meter score was 163.45.
Wellington Chen, Tyler Marzano, Jakub Zukowski, and Ivanchikov teamed up to win the 200-freestyle relay with a time of 1:31.99.
Bentley's next dual is at Southern Connecticut, Jan. 12.
