Eight Bentley Swimmers & Divers Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

WALTHAM, Mass. – Eight members of the Bentley University men's and women's swimming and diving teams have recently been named to the 2022-23 NCAA Division II Academic All-District 1 swimming and diving teams by the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA).

From the men's teams, the honorees were graduate diver Jeremy Glick (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS) and seniors Ryan Looney (Wilton, Conn./Wilton HS), Michael Motisi (Ellington, Conn./Ellington HS) and Anthony Vizental (Concord, Calif./Clayton Valley HS).

The women's Academic All-District team members were seniors Kate Galvin (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern HS) and Mary Huminski (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand HS), junior Emily Blatt (Westford/Westford Academy) and sophomore Jordan Nuzback (Fairview, Pa./McDowell HS).

District 1 includes student-athletes competing in the Northeast-10, East Coast and Central Atlantic conferences. To be nominated, a student-athlete needs to have at least a 3.50 GPA, be a significant contributor to the team and be of at least sophomore status.

Blatt, who majors in both data analytics and business studies, was a silver medalist in both the 200 yard breaststroke and the 200 medley relay at the Northeast-10 Championships as well as the number four finisher in the 100 breast. In 2022, she helped Bentley capture gold in the 400 medley relay.

Galvin, a finance and liberal studies major, medaled in 20 of 21 events at the Northeast-10's during her career and collected eight gold, six silver and seven bronze. This year, she repeated as the NE10 champ in the 50 freestyle and was second in three relays, third in two relays and fourth in the 100 free. Galvin owns the Bentley school records in the 50 free (23.97 seconds), the 100 free (51.83) and the 200 free relay (1:37.05).

Glick, who is pursuing his masters degree in accountancy after graduating Magna Cum Laude last May, was fourth off both diving boards at the conference championships with scores of 346.30 from the three-meter and 379.35 from the one-meter. In 2019, he earned bronze from both boards.

Huminski, who majors in management with a human resources concentration, has competed in six diving events at the Northeast-10 Championships during her career and has placed first in all six (three in the one-meter and three in the three-meter). She's been the Northeast-10 Women's Diver of the Meet three times, the NE10 Women's Diver of the Year twice and a two-time participant in the NCAA Division II qualifying meet.

Looney helped Bentley to gold and a school record in the 200 free relay (1:22.97) while also collecting silver in the 50 free, the 100 fly and three relays. He also placed third in the 100 free. In 2022, Looney was part of a Bentley relay team that earned gold in the 400 free.

Motisi, a finance major and a team captain along with Motisi and Vizental, was the NE10 silver medalist in the 400 individual medley. He also placed sixth in the 1000 free and eighth in the 500 free, was a silver medalist in two relays and helped Bentley to a school record in the 200 medley relay (1:33.07). Motisi, during his career, has amassed five silver and four bronze medals.

Nuzback repeated as the Northeast-10 champion in the 200 individual medley last month, finishing in 2:07.18. In addition, the ten-time conference medalist was second in the 200 medley relay, third in two relays and fourth in both the 100 and 200 butterfly. Nuzback majors in corporate finance and accounting.

Vizental, at the Northeast-10's, broke school records five times (200 butterfly twice, 100 fly, 200 free, 200 medley relay) and was the gold medalist in both the 100 and 200 fly. He also earned silver in four relays and bronze in the 200 individual medley. As a Falcon, Vizental has earned 17 NE10 medals, including eight gold.

The men's team posted a 10-0 record, the women were 10-1 and both placed second in the NE10 Championships.
