With 173-54 Win over Bridgewater State, Bentley Finishes Dual Schedule Unbeaten for 5th Time in 6 Seasons

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – With a 173-54 road victory at Bridgewater State Wednesday night, the Bentley University men's swimming and diving team completed its dual schedule unbeaten for the fifth time in six years. The 10-0 Falcons have won 20 straight, dating back to January 2020, and are 59-1 since January 2016.

Bentley won 12 of 13 events against the Bears with graduate student Jeremy Glick (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS) sweeping the diving and eight different student-athletes winning individual swimming events. Glick's scores were 234.10 from the one-meter board and 238.65 from the three-meter.

In the freestyle events, junior Jake Eastman (Bolton/Nashoba Reg. HS) took the 50 in 23.11, freshman Carter Ferrara (Coto de Caza, Calif./Mater Dei HS) captured the 100 in 48.95, sophomore Tyler Marzano (Hillsdale, N.J./Pascack Valley HS) swam the 200 in 1:52.10, and the winning time for sophomore Calvin Ye (Port Washington, N.Y./Paul D. Schreiber HS) in the 500 was 5:01.38.

Bentley's other winners were freshman Leighton Wielgoszinski (Madison, Ind./Madison Consolidated) in the 200 individual medley (2:04.96), sophomore Joey Twomey (Sebastian, Fla./Sebastian River HS) in the 100 butterfly (55.24), senior Ryan Looney (Wilton, Conn./Wilton HS) in the 100 backstroke (56.27) and senior Anthony Vizental (Concord, Calif./Clayton Valley HS) in the 100 breaststroke (59.96).

Eastman, Vizental and Looney were part of the Falcons' winning 200 medley relay team, along with sophomore Kenneth Ryu (Los Angeles, Calif./Loyola HS), and the 200 free relay team of junior Sergio Torres (Guaynabo, P.R./Commonwealth-Parkville School), junior Peter Epp (Port Washington, N.Y./Paul D. Schreiber HS), Ferrara and Marzano took first in 1:29.49.

Bentley's next action will be the four-day Northeast-10 Championships, which will begin Feb. 9 at WPI.
