Looney, Motisi & Vizental Named Bentley Men’s Swimming Captains

WALTHAM, Mass. – Seniors Ryan Looney (Wilton, Conn./Wilton HS), Michael Motisi (Ellington, Conn./Ellington HS) and Anthony Vizental (Concord, Calif./Clayton Valley HS) have been named captains of the 2022-23 Bentley University men's swimming and diving team, head coach Mary Kay Samko announced.

"These men have been part of the backbone of the team over their first three seasons," said Samko. "Each have been among our top scorers at the conference championship meet with Anthony Vizental winning individual gold and setting a school record in the 200 butterfly. Ryan has emerged as our top sprinter and Michael can be relied upon to swim and score in any event.  They set the pace at practice and the example at meets."

Vizental is coming off a junior season in which he participated in three gold medal-winning relays at the Northeast-10 championships as well as taking first in the 200 yard butterfly with a school record 1:50.08. Owner of ten career NE10 medals (six gold, four silver), he also ranks second in program history in the 200 individual medley, the 400 IM and the 200 freestyle.

Motisi, at the 2022 Northeast-10 Championships, medaled three times. He was second in the 1000 free and third in both the 500 free and the 400 individual medley. His career resume includes six NE10 medals with two silvers and four bronze.

Looney also went to the podium three times with a first in the 400 free relay, a second in the 200 free relay and third in the 100 backstroke. He also placed fourth in the 200 back and fifth in the 50 free.

Bentley, 7-0 in dual competition last year and 47-1 over the last five years, opens the season Friday night at home against Wheaton College.
