WALTHAM, Mass. – Two first half goals were enough to give No. 7 seed Southern New Hampshire a 2-0 victory over No. 2 seed Bentley in the quarterfinals of the NE10 Championship on Saturday.
The goals came just over two minutes apart. First Thore Ulstein netted in the 15th minute, assisted by Rafa Escobedo and Iago Perez.
Then in the 17th minute, Luca Shubitidze scored with Perez assisting again.
Shots on goal for the match were even 4-4 and the Penmen had the overall advantage in shots at 11-9.
SNHU advances on to play No. 3 Adelphi in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
Bentley's record dropped to 7-7-2. They sprinted into the postseason with a 5-1-1 record in its final seven matches.
