Bomfim Named Third Team All-Northeast-10

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University goalkeeper Eduardo Bomfim (Salvador, Brazil) was named third team All-Conference by the Northeast-10.

In his first season as a Falcon after transferring from Division I Georgia Southern, Bomfim had a standout year in goal.

In 15 regular season matches he made 79 saves and played 1,125 minutes. He was a two-time NE10 Goalie of the Week on Oct. 3 and Oct. 24.

His first Goalie of the Week Award came after he made seven saves in a 1-1 tie against Adelphi on Sept. 28, followed by helping Bentley to a win over Saint Anselm on Oct. 1. His second award came after he stopped nine shots at Saint Rose on Oct. 19 and six shots in a 5-2 victory over Assumption on Oct. 22

He ended the regular season ranked second in the conference in saves and fourth in save percentage (.760). His season high was 10 saves in a 1-0 victory over New Haven on Oct. 15.

Bomfim helped the Falcons qualify for the NE10 playoffs after they were predicted to finish outside the top-eight in the NE10 Preseason Coaches' Poll. They fell to No. 1 nationally ranked Franklin Pierce in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
