Bentley Falls to Le Moyne Despite’s Levine’s Highlight Goal

WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior Evan Levine (Boca Raton, Fla./Olympic Heights) scored a spectuclar goal for the Bentley in the first half, but Le Moyne pulled away in the second half for a 3-1 victory over the Falcons on Saturday afternoon.

Levine made a brilliant solo run that started near midfield after he received a pass and saw him split to Le Moyne defenders. Faced with a one-on-one with Le Moyne goalkeeper Josh Mahr who charged out, Levine stayed composed and dribbled around Mahr for a shot from six yards for the goal. That gave Bentley a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute and was his second goal and sixth point of the season.

The Falcons though were pegged back less than a minute before halftime, when the Dolphins were awarded a penalty kick and Max Buesch converted it to tie the match 1-1.

Le Moyne then went ahead just over four minutes after halftime when Terrence Crysler-Howard scored. Falcons goalie Eduardo Bomfim (Salvador, Brazil) made an initial nice save to deny Cameron Stuart from close range with a diving save, but Crysler-Howard was there on the doorstep to collect the rebound and score.

Le Moyne then added to its lead with a goal in the 73rd minute by Max Van Duin for a 3-1 advantage.

The Dolphins improved to 3-2-3 overall with the win and 1-1-2 NE10, and the Falcons dropped to 2-4-2 and 1-2 NE10.

Bentley will be back in action on Wednesday night when they visit Adelphi at 7:00 pm.
