RINDGE, N.H. – No. 1 ranked Franklin Pierce improved to 12-0 on the season and 7-0 in the Northeast-10 with a 5-1 victory over Bentley on Saturday.
Falcons junior midfielder Chad Meyers (East Northport, N.Y./Saint Anthony's) scored in the 33rd minute to cancel out Franklin Pierce's opening goal. But the Ravens scored four in the second half to pull away.
Franklin Pierce took a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute on a goal by Braudilio Rodrigues. But just over two minutes later, Meyers' goal got the Falcons back even at 1-1.
The score stayed that way into the 54th minute until FPU's Antonio Santos Ferreira struck to put the Ravens up 2-1.
FPU then received goals in the 64th, 71st and 76th minutes to pull away.
Bentley's next match will be on Tuesday at home against Adelphi at 3:00 pm, the first of two straight matches at home.
