Jaber Named NEILA Div. II Player of the Year; Murphy Voted Coach of the Year

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University senior attacker Luke Jaber (Milton, Mass./BC High) was named the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's Division II Player of the Year and Jim Murphy was named its Coach of the Year.

Jaber had 36 goals and 19 assists in 16 games for the Falcons. He's also been named second team All-Northeast-10 and an honorable mention All-America by USA Lacrosse Magazine.

A team co-captain, this is the second straight season he led the team in each of goals, assists and points. He reached the 100 career points milestone on April 22 and during the season he was the NE10 Player of the Week once and named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll four other times.

Murphy is the NEILA Coach of the Year for the 6th time in his career after he led Bentley to its first NCAA Tournament appearance. The Falcons also reached the finals of the NE10 Championship and are ranked 10th nationally by the USILA.

He was previously named the NE10 Coach of the Year on May 2 for the 7th time in his career.

Nine student-athletes from the team were named to the NEILA's All-New England teams.

Named to the first team were Jaber, midfielders Nathan Alviti (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) and Garrett Witt (Frederick, Md./Oakdale), face-off specialist Cam Bartolomeo (Meriden, Conn./Xavier), defenseman Joseph Franzoso (Shrewsbury, Mass./St. John's) and long stick midfielder Alex Parton (Victor, N.Y./Victor).

Voted to the second team were attacker Conor Segreti (Darnestown, Md./St. John's), goalie Jackson Tinsley (Beverly Hills, Mich.) and defenseman Bryan Powers (Holden, Mass./Wachusett).
