No. 17 Bentley Improves to 3-1 With 18-5 Victory at Saint Rose

ALBANY, N.Y. – No. 17 Bentley improved to 3-1 on the season and 2-0 in the Northeast-10 with an 18-5 victory at Saint Rose on Saturday afternoon.

Junior attacker Luke Jaber (Milton, Mass./BC High) poured in five goals, while senior Matty O'Brien (Rockland, Mass./Rockland) notched three goals and two assists.

The tandem of Jake Tyska (Natick, Mass./Wayland) and Cam Bartolomeo (Meriden, Conn./Xavier) helped Bentley dominated in the face-off circle to the tune of 18-27. Freshman long stick midfielder Alex Parton (Victor, N.Y./Victor) continued the strong start to his career with eight ground balls and three caused turnovers, both game highs.

Bentley jumped out to a 3-0 lead as O'Brien scored twice inside the first three-plus minutes, with a goal as well from senior Ben Baldasaro (Exeter, N.H./Exeter).

After Saint Rose scored the opening goal of the 2nd quarter to cut Bentley's lead to 4-2, the Falcons went on a 7-0 run over the rest of the quarter to lead 11-2 at halftime. Jaber had three goals during the run, and the other goals came from O'Brien, Tyska, Clay Moseman (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow) and Eric Makhatadze (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa).

Saint Rose broke the run with the first goal of the 3rd quarter, but Bentley responded with a 3-0 run over the rest of the quarter. Jaber scored his fifth of the day to start the run, and Dan Cranitch (Reading, Mass./Reading) and Garrett Witt (Frederick, Md./Oakdale) also scored as they led 14-3 going into the final quarter.

After notching the victory today the Falcons will prepare for their next game, which is set for Saturday at home against Franklin Pierce.
