Waltham, Mass. – No. 3 ranked Adelphi snapped No. 17 ranked Bentley's five game winning streak with a 15-3 victory over the Falcons on Tuesday night.
The Panthers, who were ranked No. 1 last week, improved to 13-1 overall and 8-1 NE10, while the Falcons dropped to 8-3 and 6-3.
Attackers Nicolas Racalbuto and Gordon Purdie Jr. led the way for Adelphi with four and three goals, respectively, while goalie Brendan McDougal made 13 saves.
Bentley's Scott Carvalho (Wayland, Mass./Wayland) had a goal at 3:01 of the 1st quarter, but they trailed 4-1 after the opening 15 minutes. Adelphi added four goals in the 2nd quarter and led 8-1 at halftime
Falcons senior Alex Astarita (Bedford, N.H./Bishop Guertin) scored in the 3rd quarter, and junior Matt Brooks (Brunswick, Maine/Phillips Exeter) in the 4th quarter, with Carvalho on the assist.
Junior goalie Mike Haggan (Braintree, Mass./BC High) made 13 saves, while junior Nick Irby (Groton, Mass./Groton) went 12-20 in the face-off circle and had five ground balls.
The Falcons will look to bounce back on Saturday when they visit Pace.
