Bentley Heads to Canisius This Weekend for Key Atlantic Hockey Series

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley plays its second to last series of the regular season this weekend when they head up to Buffalo, N.Y. to take on Canisius. Friday's game begins at 7:00 PM and Saturday is a 6:00 PM start at the LECOM Harborcenter.

 

Leyh Named AHA Player of the Week

Ethan Leyh was named the Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week on Monday for the second time this season. He had a hat trick in Friday's 4-2 win over Army West Point and an assist in Saturday's game.

That was his second hat trick of the season, which ties him for the national lead with two other players. His first hat trick came on Dec. 30 against Union.

As a team the Falcons have four hat tricks this season. The other two were by A.J. Hodges (Nov. 10 vs. Niagara) and Ryan Mansfield (Jan. 20 vs. Mercyhurst).

 

Two or Fewer

Bentley has held its opponents to two goals or fewer in 15 of its 30 games this season. They are T-7th nationally in fewest goals allowed per game at 2.4.

They continue to rank 4th nationally in fewest shots allowed per game at 24.0.

 

Strong Special Teams

Bentley is also 7th nationally in penalty kill percentage at 85.2%. They are one of just six teams in the nation with a PK over 85% and a power play over 20%. Boston College, Lake Superior, Quinnipiac, RIT and Providence are the others.

 

Series History

Canisius leads the all-time series over Bentley 35-33-9.

This will be Bentley's first visit to Buffalo since January, 2022 when the teams split a series (7-4 Bentley win, 2-1 Canisius win in overtime). Last season Canisius took four of six points at Bentley Arena with a 5-1 win and a 2-2 tie that Bentley won the shootout.
