Falcons Head to No. 19 RIT Looking to Extend Winning Streak; Friday's Game on NESN+

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley heads to Western New York this weekend for a series at No. 19 ranked RIT with the team looking to extend its three-game winning streak. The series gets underway on Friday at 7:05 PM and concludes on Saturday at 5:05 PM.

Swept Away

Bentley swept Mercyhurst at home last weekend by scores of 4-0 and 8-4. After defeating Sacred Heart 3-2 in overtime on Jan. 13 the Falcons have won three straight games. They previously won three straight earlier this season from Nov. 3-Nov. 11.

The eight goals Bentley scored on Jan. 20 are the team's most goals in a game since Jan. 10, 2014 against RIT.

A hat trick of hat tricks

Ryan Mansfield's hat trick on Saturday against Mercyhurst was the third hat trick by a Falcon this season. He joined A.J. Hodges (Nov. 10 vs. Niagara) and Ethan Leyh (Dec. 30 vs. Union).

The three hat tricks share the national lead with six other schools, and the Falcons are one of six teams with three different hat trick scorers

Mansfield also had two assists on Saturday for a five-point game. That matched Hodges' effort on Nov. 10 for the most points in a single game by an Atlantic Hockey player this season.

Defensive Prowess

Bentley's 4-0 shutout of Mercyhurst on Jan. 19 was its fourth shutout this season. Goalies Connor Hasley, who was in net for that game, and Nicholas Grabko have two shutouts each this season.

That game was the 12th time this season, out of 26, that Bentley has limited its opponent to two goals or fewer.

Series History

Bentley trails the all-time series vs. RIT 17-27-4. The teams split two games at RIT last season, with the Tigers winning the first game 4-0 and Bentley rebounding in the second game 2-1.

Bentley has a 7-3 record all-time in the Polisseni Center, which opened before the 2014-15 season. They won the first six games they played in the new building.
