Falcons Head to Air Force This Weekend to Continue Road Swing

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley is in the middle of a six-game road swing and the longest trip of this stretch comes this weekend when the Falcons head out to Colorado to take on Air Force. Friday's game gets underway at 9:05 pm eastern time and Saturday's game is a 7:05 pm start.

The trip so far

The six-game road swing began last Tuesday at AIC with a 4-2 defeat, but the Falcons responded with an emphatic 4-1 victory at UMass Lowell on Friday in the first game of the Turkey Leg Classic.

In the win, the Falcons owned a 40-15 shots advantage and received goals from four different skaters; Arlo Merritt, Kellan Hjartarson, Ryan Upson and Jonathan Bendorf.

That set up a final of the in-season tournament with Merrimack on Saturday. The Falcons held a 3-1 lead in the 2nd period after goals by Nik Armstrong-Kingkade, Matt Thomson and Chase Davis, but the Warriors rallied with three unanswered goals for a 4-3 victory.

The Falcons play the fourth and fifth games of the road trip this weekend at Air Force, and the sixth and final game is against Maine on Dec. 9.

Two in the top-20

Bentley is one of just two teams in the nation to have two goalies that rank in the top-20 in goals against average. Connor Hasley is 14th (2.15) and Nicholas Grabko is 18th (2.28).

Bochen in the top-15

Defensemen Nick Bochen is tied for 15th nationally in +/- at +10. That number leads Atlantic Hockey.

Series History

The all-time series between Bentley and Air Force is 19-37-7. The series began in 1998.

The teams split in Colorado last season. Bentley won the first game 5-1 and Air Force the second 2-0. The teams will meet again this season, at Bentley Arena, on Jan. 5-6.
