Falcons Look Keep Momentum Going in Series vs. Niagara

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Falcons host Niagara this weekend at Bentley Arena for a pair of games. Friday's game is a 7:05 PM faceoff and Saturday gets underway at 4:05 PM.

 

Home cooking

The Falcons won their third straight home game with a 3-1 victory over AIC last Friday. Nik Armstrong-Kingkade scored two goals, including an empty netter to seal the win with 0.2 seconds remaining. They fell behind 1-0 4:08 into the first period, but a power play goal at 10:27 by Ethan Leyh tied it up.

Armstrong-Kingkade netted the go-ahead goal at 16:56 of the 2nd period. Stephen Castagna had the primary assist on the first two goals.

 

White Ribbon Game

 

Friday will be Bentley's annual White Ribbon game. The White Ribbon Campaign is a global movement that aims to end interpersonal violence and promote helathy relationships. During first period intermission, Bentley students will form a human ribbon on the ice to raise awareness for the campaign. 

 

Grabko shines

Senior goalie Nicholas Grabko made 20 saves in the win over the Yellow Jackets. He has a has a .971 save percentage and has allowed just two goals in his last three starts, against AIC, Robert Morris and Stonehill.

Grabko leads the AHA with a 1.75 GAA and ranks 7th nationally. His .931 save percentage is third in the league and 11th nationally.

 

Penalty kill over 90%

Bentley has a 90.0% penalty kill on the season to lead the league. That makes them one of just 11 teams in the nation with a penalty kill over 90%.

 

All-time series

The all-time series between Bentley and Niagara is 10-15-3. The teams swept each other on each other's home-ice last season. The away team has won the last six games in the series. That includes a 2-0 series victory for the Falcons in the 2022 AHA playoffs on the road.
