Duerr's Goal and Hasley's Shutout Lead Bentley Past Stonehill 2-0 for Jones’ First Win

WALTHAM, Mass. - In a battle of strong goaltending, Connor Hasley made all 18 saves for the shutout in a 2-0 Bentley victory over Stonehill. The Falcons victory marked Andy Jones' first win as Bentley head coach.

In the first period, Bentley dominated but could not put the puck past Skyhawks' goaltender David Meilun as he made 20 saves on 20 shots in the first period.

The opportunities kept rolling for the Falcons in the second period, including a penalty shot for freshman Kolby Amici which was shut down by Meilun as he remained patient on the shot.

6:58 into the third period, defenseman Sam Duerr wristed a puck through a screen on the power play and beat Meilun cleanly to give the Falcons the 1-0 lead. Duerr's first goal as a Falcon came with assists from Nick Bochen and Stephen Castagna.

In the dying seconds, Castagna added an empty netter for his second point of the night to make it 2-0 and seal the deal.

Bentley and Stonehill are back in action tomorrow from Waltham in the second game of their series, with puck drop at 6:05 P.M.
