Niemo Named Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week
WALTHAM, Mass. – For the second time in three weeks, Nicholas Niemo (Middlebury, Vt.) was named the Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week.
Niemo had two goals and one assist in Bentley's series at Mercyhurst over the weekend. He notched both goals in Saturday's 5-3 victory and had an assist in Friday's game.
His first goal on Saturday tied the game 2-2 late in the 2nd period and helped Bentley erase a 2-0 deficit. He then scored the go-ahead goal on the power play at 8:43 of the 3rd period to give the Falcons a 3-2 lead on their way to the victory.
Niemo has a seven-game points streak going. During the streak he has notched 13 points, on four goals and nine assists. On the season he leads the team in both points (18) and assists (12).
Niemo was previously named Rookie of the Week on Jan. 16 after he had six points in Bentley's sweep of Niagara on the road.
Bentley is back at home this weekend to host Holy Cross. Friday's game is at 7:05 PM and Saturday is at 4:05 PM.
