Bentley Drops Series Opener to No. 16 Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 16 ranked Ohio State improved to 5-1-1 on the season with a 9-2 victory over Bentley University on Thursday night at Value City Arena.

Jake Wise, a draft pick of the Chicago Blackhawks, had two goals and one assist. Right wing Kamil Sadlocha had a game high four points with two goals and two assists.

Bentley's goals came from senior center Lucas Vanroboys (Thamesville, Ontario) and graduate student captain Dylan Pitera (Culver, Indiana).

Vanroboys' goal, his first of the season, came at 10:19 of the 2nd period and was shorthanded. Pitera took a shot from the left wing and behind the face-off circle that was saved by OSU goalie Jakub Dobes. The rebound came loose and Vanroboys was there to pounce on it for the goal from close range.

Pitera then scored at 15:55 of the 3rd period with Cole Kodsi (Boca Raton, Fla.) on the assist.

Kodsi gained control of the puck in the defensive end and passed to Pitera, who quickly gave it back to Kodsi in the neutral zone to create a two-on-one chance. Kodsi then fed it back to Pitera, who one-timed his shot from in between the faceoff circles past goalie Reilly Herbst.

Freshman goalie Josh Seeley (Trenton, Mich.) made his NCAA debut in the 2nd period and stopped 19 shots in 27 minutes of action for the Falcons.

These two teams will meet again on Friday night at 7:00 pm for the series finale.
