Bentley Launches Spring Golf Season Next Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – The first of three spring tournaments for the Bentley University men's golf team is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday when the Falcons will be at the Candia Woods Country Club in New Hampshire for the Saint Anselm Hawk Invitational.

The Falcons, who were number nine in the most recent NCAA Division II East Region rankings, will also compete in Southern New Hampshire's Penmen Invitational April 15-16 and the Atlantic/East Regional Preview April 22-23 this spring. The latter will be contested in Wheeling, W.V., days before the field for the NCAA East/Atlantic Super Regional is announced.

The top golfer for coach Brian Bain's team during the fall portion of the schedule was senior Timothy Picard (Dracut/Lowell Catholic HS), with a 73.8 stroke average.

Others who saw significant action this past fall included junior Nelson Eaton (Groton, Vt./St. Johnsbury Acad.), freshman Andrew teDuits (Charlestown/Boston College HS) and seniors Aidan Stuart (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand HS) and Jake Napoli (Plantsville, Conn./Southington HS). Eaton had a 75.3 stroke average and the other three were all under 78.

The fall season included a tie for fifth place in the Northeast-10 Championships, a tie for fourth in the Granite State Invitational and tie for sixth in the Penmen Invitational.
