Granite State Opener Next Up for Bentley Golf

WALTHAM, Mass. – The second tournament of the fall for the Bentley University golf team will be the Granite State Opener Monday and Tuesday.

The event, which is hosted by Southern New Hampshire University, will be contested at the Beaver Meadow Golf Club in Concord, N.H.

The lineup for coach Brian Bain will include four players who helped Bentley finish third among five teams last week in the season-opening Hartford Hawks Invitational. Included is junior Nelson Eaton (Groton, Vt./St. Johnsbury Acad.). He tied for third with an even-par 74-70-144.

Sophomore Zach Stewart (Pembroke/Duxbury HS) was Bentley's second best golfer at Hartford, tying for ninth with a 75-74-149.

Bentley's lineup will also include senior captains Timothy Picard (Dracut/Lowell Catholic HS) and Aidan Stuart (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand HS), along with freshman Andrew teDuits (Charlestown/Boston College HS). In addition, sophomore James Davignnon II (Medford/Medfield HS) will compete as an individual.

This will be the first of two consecutive tournaments for Bentley in New Hampshire. The Falcons will be back Sept. 25-26 for the SNHU Penmen Invitational at the Concord Country Club.
