Bentley Launches Fall Golf Season Monday & Tuesday; Drapeau ’98 Named Assistant Coach

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley University fall golf season will get underway this week with the Falcons competing in the Hartford Hawks Invitational Monday and Tuesday at the Tumble Brook Country Club in Bloomfield, Conn.

The lineup for coach Brian Bain as he starts his second season at the helm will include two residents of the Nutmeg State, seniors Aidan Stuart (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand HS) and Jake Napoli (Plantsville, Conn./Southington HS). Stuart, a team co-captain, has a 78.7 career stroke average in ten career tournaments. Napoli, who qualified for the Connecticut Open this past summer, will be competing in his first tournament as a collegian.

The lineup will also include junior Nelson Eaton (Groton, Vt./St. Johnsbury Acad.), senior co-captain Timothy Picard (Dracut/Lowell Catholic HS) and sophomore Zach Stewart (Pembroke/Duxbury HS).

Eaton had a 76.8 stroke average last year and was one of two Falcons selected for the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional. Picard followed with a 76.9 stroke average while playing in nine tournaments. Stewart didn't see any action last year in his first Bentley season.

Eaton and Picard were both named 2022-23 GCAA All-America Scholars for their combined success on the course and in the classroom.

Bain also announced that former Falcon captain Phil Drapeau '98 would return to his alma mater as an assistant coach. Drapeau, a four-year letterwinner and a two-year captain, helped Bentley earn NCAA Division II North regional berths annually from 1996-98.
