Walter Excels During 1st 2 Rounds of The Trojan; Bentley 7th of 10

GOLDSBORO, N.C. – In his first action of the spring, Bentley University senior Jared Walter (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS) finished the first two rounds of The Trojan Monday in a tie for 14th place. Walter posted a two-over 72-74-146 and is just three strokes out of the top five.

Walter's day included six birdies with five coming on par fours. His average score of 3.95 on the par fours was tied for the fourth best and his 23 pars was tied for ninth-best in the 60-player field.

Walter's efforts helped Bentley finish the day seventh among ten teams with a 305-295-600. The Falcons had the fifth best average on par four holes, 4.28, and were tied for the fourth most pars, 104.

The number two man for Bentley was sophomore Evan Desjardins (Salem, N.H./Salem HS), who is tied for 19th with a 76-72-148.

Also for the Falcons, junior Timothy Picard (Dracut, Mass./Lowell Catholic HS) is tied for 33rd with a 76-77.

Mount Olive's B team is at the top of the leaderboard with a five-under 571 (285-286-671), good for a 12-stroke lead over Indiana (Pa.). St. Thomas Aquinas golfer Nolan Skaggs leads the field after posting a four-under 68-72-140.

The third and final round will be played on Tuesday with a shotgun start at 9 am.
