Bentley Finishes 6th in Northeast-10 Championships; Eaton Cracks Top 10

ENDICOTT, N.Y. – The final day of the Northeast-10 Conference Men's Golf Championships featured one of the best rounds of the season for the Bentley University Falcons.

Playing at the par-72 6600-yard En-Joie Golf Club Monday, Bentley posted a team score of 293 and finished the tournament in sixth place among 11 teams with a 304-309-293-906. The Falcons were tied for the second best first-round score on Sunday and had the second best third round score.

Bentley was led by sophomore Nelson Eaton (Groton, Vt./St. Johnsbury Academy), who tied for tenth place with a 77-74-74-225. His performance on Monday included birdies on the par-five third, the par-three seventh and the par-four 11th.

The number two finisher for the Falcons was junior Timothy Picard (Dracut, Mass./Lowell Catholic HS) who tied for 14th with a 75-76-76-227.

Senior Jared Walter (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS), after struggling on Sunday, rebounded with the Falcons' best round of the season, a four-under 68 with six birdies, including half of the ten par-fours. His strong finish helped him finish in a tie for 19th with an 81-79-68-228.

Also for Bentley, senior Kevin Lynch (Haddam, Conn./Xavier HS) tied for 29th  with a 74-84-75-233.

The season continues Friday and Saturday with the Saint Rose Fall Invitational in Guilderland, N.Y.
