Bentley Finishes Day 1 of Penmen Invitational in 6th Place

CONCORD, N.H. – Led by Nelson Eaton (Groton, Vt./St. Johnsbury Acad.), Evan Desjardins (Salem, N.H./Salem HS) and Jared Walter (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS), the Bentley University golf team finished day one of Southern New Hampshire's Penmen Invitational in sixth place.

The two-day, 16-team tournament at the Beaver Meadow Golf Course will conclude with second round action Tuesday morning.

Eaton turned in a 74, good for a tie for 16th place, and both Desjardins and Walter were both a stroke back in 20th. A total of 84 golfers participated in the tournament.

Also scoring for Bentley was junior Tim Picard (Dracut/ Lowell Catholic HS), who posted a 77 for a tie for 32nd.

Bentley, with a team score of 301, stands behind Le Moyne College (289), Assumption University (290), SNHU (297), Wilmington University (298) and St. Thomas Aquinas College (300) in the standings.

A three-under 69 put Le Moyne's Nicholas Bove at the top of the leaderboard at the midpoint. Nolan Skaggs (St. Thomas Aquinas) and Sean Magarian (Assumption) both finished day one a stroke back.
