SOUTH HADLEY – With four players shooting either 75 or 76, the Bentley University golf team finished day one of American International College's Yellow Jacket Invitational in third place Monday at the Ledges Golf Club.

Bentley, with a 302, trails Franklin Pierce University (299) and Post University (300) by a slim margin at the midpoint of the 11-team tournament.

Senior co-captains Ryan Daly (Beverly/Beverly HS) and Matt Mackin (Westwood/Westwood HS) led the way with a three-over 75. Juniors Jared Walter (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS) and Kevin Lynch Lynch (Haddam, Conn/Xavier HS) each followed with a 76.

In the individual standings, Daly and Mackin are tied for tenth and Walter and Lynch are part of a ten-player tie for 14^th.

At the top of the leaderboard are a pair of Franklin Pierce players, Michael Sosik and Jake Berkio. Both finished Monday's round with an even-par 72.
