Bentley Finishes 3rd in Season-Opening Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational

KEENE, N.H. – After beginning the day in a tie for sixth, the Bentley University golf team turned in a second-round 291 and finished third among 14 teams in the season-opening Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational, which concluded Monday at the Keene Country Club.

Bentley, with a team score of 591, finished behind Southern New Hampshire University (292-288-580) and Post University (292-297-589) in the final standings.

The top golfer for the Falcons was junior Jared Walter (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS). He fired a three-under 69 Monday and finished in a tie for tenth with a 76-69-145.

Also cracking the top ten for Bentley were junior Kevin Lynch (Haddam, Conn./Xavier HS) and freshman Bennett Berg (Portland, Maine/Portland HS). Lynch tied for 15th with a 74-73-147 and Berg, Bentley's day one leader, finished in a tie for 18th with a 72-76-148.

Medalist honors were shared by Adelphi's Andrew Brunozzi and SNHU's Matt Conti, both with a three-under 141.

Bentley's next tournament is the SNHU Invitational next Sunday and Monday.
