Ethier Leads Bentley During Northeast-10 Championships; Falcons Place 5th
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Senior co-captain Tommy Ethier (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS) was the top finisher for the Bentley University golf team during the Northeast-10 Conference Championships Tuesday at the Springfield Country Club.
During the 36-hole championships, Ethier turned in back-to-back 74's for a ten-over 154. He had four birdies, including the 283-yard par four on both rounds.
Bentley, the top-ranked Division II East Region entering the championships, finished fifth among nine teams with a 310-316-626. The Falcons trailed Le Moyne College (307-300-607). Franklin Pierce University (306-312-618), Assumption University (316-302-618) and Southern New Hampshire University (309-311-620).
Junior Matt Mackin (Westwood/Westwood HS) and graduate co-captain Ellis Yoder (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead HS) were the next two finishers for Bentley. Mackin tied for 15th with a 75-82-157 and Yoder tied for 20th at 81-77-158.
Le Moyne's Nicholas Bove earned medalist honors with his 74-73-147 putting one stroke ahead of Franklin Pierce's Michael Sosik (73-75-148) and three ahead of teammate Spencer Baum (76-74-150).
