Laput Earns 2nd Northeast-10 Player of the Week Award

WALTHAM, Mass. – For the second time this season, Bentley University junior guard Zach Laput (Beacon Falls, Conn./Notre Dame HS) has been named the Men's Basketball Player of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference.

During a 3-0 week, Laput averaged 21 points, 7.3 rebounds, three assists and one steal while shooting .550 overall and .800 from the foul line. The conference's top scorer had 21 points and eight rebounds at Southern New Hampshire, 19 and 8 against previously unbeaten Dominican and 23 and 6 against Post.

Laput, through six games for the 5-1 Falcons, is averaging 22.8 points, eight rebounds, three assists and one steal. His field goal percentage is .611, he's made nine of 21 three-pointers and has gotten to the line 47 times, making 40 for an .851 accuracy rate.

In addition to leading the Northeast-10 in scoring, Laput ranks first in the conference in free throws made and attempted, third in rebounds and fourth in field goal percentage.

Last year, which helping Bentley capture the Northeast-10 championship and reach the NCAA Division II Elite Eight, Laput gave the Falcons 14.8 points and 6.8 rebounds a game.

Bentley's next game is Saturday at home against Southern Connecticut State.
