Sideris Named Northeast-10 Player of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – Following one of the most prolific games in Division II history, Bentley University senior forward Stephanie Sideris (Watertown/Watertown HS) has been named the Player of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference.

On Saturday, Sideris found the back of the net an amazing six times, and also assisted on another goal, as the Falcons topped visiting Southern Connecticut State, 9-1. The double-hat trick matched the most scored by a Division II player this season and was just one shy of the Division II national record, set by Bentley's Annette Brow against Bridgeport 29 years ago.

Sideris' 13 points against Southern Connecticut was a 2011 season-high nationally, and also trailed only Brow's 1983 performance on the all-time Division II list.

Overall, Sideris had seven goals and 15 points as Bentley closed out the regular season with a 2-1 week.

Sideris, who is currently fifth in the NE-10 in scoring (14-9-37), and her Bentley teammates will host American International College Wednesday at 7 pm in the opening round of the Northeast-10 Conference playoffs.  It will be the final home appearance for the two-time All-Conference honoree.
