Pucillo's forced fumble leads to NE10 nod

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley senior linebacker Nick Pucillo forced a key turnover during the Bentley football team's 12-10 win over Franklin Pierce. He was subsequently named the Northeast-10 Special Teams Player of the Week, the NE10 announced Monday.

The Falcons trailed Franklin Pierce, 10-3, late in the fourth quarter of Saturday's home game (Oct. 28). Mark Waid connected with Pat Damon for an 18-yard touchdown pass to tie the score with four minutes remaining.

During the ensuing kickoff, Pucillo forced a fumble that pinned the Ravens back into their own end zone. Although Franklin Pierce recovered the loose ball, the Ravens were called for a safety. Those two points stood as the game-winning points.

Pucillo is the third different Falcon this season to earn NE10 Special Teams Player of the Week. Tajon Vassar earned the honor once, and Mason Campbell is a two-time recipient.

Bentley celebrates its seniors during the 2023 home finale Saturday, Nov. 4. The Falcons kickoff against Assumption at 12 p.m.
