Lupoli collects second consecutive NE10 nod
WALTHAM, Mass. – Salvatore Lupoli Jr. has a nonstop motor. The graduate student linebacker was named the Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, the NE10 announced Monday.
Lupoli totaled 17 tackles – including 1.5 sacks – during the football team's 27-9 victory over Pace at home this past weekend (Oct. 14).
Two weeks ago, Lupoli amassed 23 tackles at St. Anselm (Oct. 7). It is the most tackles by a Falcon in at least 30 years. Lupoli not only earned a NE10 nod that week, but he also received the Gold Helmet and D2football.com Defensive Player of the Week.
Lupoli's 13.2 tackles per game leads the nation.
Bentley has a 3-3 overall record (2-1 NE10) as it prepares for its next game at American International Saturday, Oct. 21.
