WALTHAM, Mass. – Salvatore Lupoli Jr. added a third weekly honor following his outstanding performance during the Bentley football team's game at St. Anselm (Oct. 7).

Tuesday morning D2football.com named Lupoli the National Defensive Player of the Week. The graduate student from Chelmsford, Mass. was also named the Northeast-10 Defensive Player of the Week Monday, and he received the Gold Helmet for best overall NCAA D-II / D-III player - as selected by New England football writers.

Lupoli totaled 20 tackles against the Hawks – the most by any player in D-II this season. Thirteen of those tackles were solo. Lupoli added 3.5 tackles for a loss, including two sacks.

Not only does Lupoli lead the NE10 for tackles per game (11.8), but he is also tied for the national lead.
