Waltham, Mass. – First-year Bentley football head coach Saj Thakkar announced the team's four captains for the 2023 season.

Defensive backs Aaron Racki and Mathieu Severance, wide receiver Jake Tarentino, and linebacker Salvatore Lupoli Jr. will lead the squad this fall.

"The 2023 Bentley Football captains embody our culture day in and day out," said Thakkar. "Not only are they outstanding football players, but they are tremendous leaders, motivators, and lead by example in all they do. They were entirely selected by their teammates, which shows the amount of respect they have earned from those around them. I could not be more thrilled that these four men will lead our team this fall."

Racki started every game in 2022, bringing his streak to 24 consecutive starts during his Bentley career. Severance also started every game last year, and he earned All-Northeast-10 honors after totaling 42 tackles for the season.

Tarentino is a three-time recipient of the D2 Athletic Directors Association (ADA) Academic Achievement Award, and Lupoli has 214 tackles through 30 games in his collegiate career.

The 2023 season begins at home Saturday, Sept. 2, against West Chester at 1 p.m.
