Three Falcons Named to Academic All-Northeast-10 Football Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – A trio of Bentley University Falcons have been voted to the Academic All-Northeast-10 Conference football team. They are seniors Nate Larkins (Huntington, N.Y./John Glenn HS) and Jake Tarentino (Clark, N.J./Don Bosco Prep HS) as well as junior Phil Koechling (Wayland/Wayland HS).

Bentley's three selections were a conference-high and represented 25 percent of the dozen honorees.

Larkins, a senior management major who earned first-team All-Northeast-10 honors, carried the ball 136 times for 579 yards and seven touchdowns. He also caught ten passes for 80 yards and a TD. He was fourth in the conference in rushing yards per game and was also seventh in points scored with 56.

A 2021-22 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar and a 2022 College Sports Communicators Academic All-Super Region 1 honoree, Larkins has career totals that include 1,370 rushing yards with a 5.1 per carry average, 16 touchdowns and only one fumble on 270 carries.

Tarentino, a senior majoring in economics-finance, saw action in every game and started once. This was his third season as Bentley's holder, and he also saw playing time as a wide receiver, making five catches for 77 yards.

Koechling, a junior who is majoring in management, was in nine games with eight starts on the offensive line. He was a key part of a Bentley offense that led the Northeast-10 in rushing yards and was third in both total offense and points scored.

Bentley finished the 2022 season with a 7-3 record.
