Dashiell II Voted to D2CCA All-Super Region 1 Team; Lupoli Jr. & Branch Also Recognized

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University senior defensive end Cedie Dashiell II (Buena Park, Calif./Buena Park HS) has been selected for the 2022 Division II Conference Commissioner's Association All-Super Region 1 first team.

In addition, both junior linebacker Salvatore Lupoli Jr. (Chelmsford/Chelmsford HS) and senior cornerback Jailen Branch (Randolph/Milton Academy) were selected for the All-Super Region 1 second team.

Super Region 1 encompasses student-athletes from the Northeast-10 Conference, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, the Mountain East Conference and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

The trio, all of whom are team captains, helped the Falcons to a 7-3 record with the defense ranking amongst the premier in Division II. Coach Alvin Reynolds' defense ranks third in division II in points allowed, fourth in yards allowed, seventh in pass efficiency defense and in the top ten in both third down and fourth down conversion defense.

All three were previously named to the All-Northeast-10 Conference first team and both Dashiell II and Lupoli Jr. were part of the New England Football Writers Division II-III All-New England team.

Dashiell II, who will advance to the national ballot for All-America consideration, led the region in sacks per game with 10.5, resulting in losses totaling 101 yards. He forced four fumbles and 12.5 of his 27 tackles occurred behind the line of scrimmage.

In 40 career games, Dashiell II amassed 149 tackles, 30.5 sacks, 44 tackles for losses, 11 forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. Among active D-II players, he is number one in forced fumbles, third in sacks, fourth in sack yards and fifth in TFL losses.

Lupoli Jr. led the Northeast-10 in tackles (102) with his 10.2 average ranking 11th in Division II. He had five games with at least ten, including 15 against both New Haven and Pace. In 30 career games, Lupoli Jr. has made 214 tackles and come up with five takeaways.

Branch, who was selected to the AFCA Good Works Team and will be recognized later this month at the Sugar Bowl, intercepted four passes, broke up another eight and was in on 21 tackles. He finished his career with 115 tackles, 24 pass break-ups and six interceptions in 39 games.
