Sencaj, Rizzuto homer in 8-6 loss to No. 13 Molloy

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Despite a late rally, Bentley dropped an 8-6 decision to No. 13 ranked Molloy in the first game of its week-long trip to Florida.

Trailing 8-3 in the top of the 8th, a solo homer by Steve Rizzuto cut the deficit to 8-4.

In the top of the 9th with one out, a single by Tim Zupkus plated Hunter Smith and Tommy Bolton to make it a two run game.

Zupkus then advanced to second on a wild pitch, and Cory Bright was hit by a pitch to put two men on. But Molloy wriggled out of trouble and got the final two outs to secure the win.

Zupkus had a 3-for-5 day at the plate with three RBI, and freshman Brendan Sencaj went 2-for-3 with a home run, his third of the season, in the second inning.

Smith, was recently named the Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week, continued his hot hitting by going 2-for-4.

The Falcons play the second game of their Florida trip on Saturday against California (Pa.) at 11 a.m. in Lake Worth Beach.
