Heber Named NCBWA Div. II East Region Pitcher of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University freshman left-hander Pat Heber (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City HS) has been named the NCBWA Division II East Region Pitcher of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

In his first career complete game, Heber struck out 12 and did not issue a walk as Bentley defeated Assumption, 14-2. He scattered four hits in his seven innings of work and only allowed one earned run.

Heber, whose average of 12.19 strikeouts per nine innings is third best in the Northeast-10, is 2-1 with a 4.35 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 20.2 innings. His other win came against St. Michael's on March 5.

Following his performance against Assumption, Heber was also honored as the Pitcher of the Week and the Rookie of the Week in the Northeast-10.

Heber is the third Falcon recognized by the NCBWA this spring. Previously, Stan DeMartinis III and Liam Sears were honored as the East Region's Hitter of the Week.

Bentley, 10-7 overall and 2-2 NE10, will host American International in a four-game series this weekend on DeFelice Field, beginning on Friday.
