6 Bentley Teams Recognized by Northeast-10 for Academic Excellence

WALTHAM, Mass. – Six Bentley University teams have received 2022-23 Team Academic Excellence Awards from the Northeast-10 Conference, an award presented to the program in each of the conference's varsity sports that achieved the highest grade point average during the year.

Bentley earned the recognition in football (3.144), men's golf (3.442), men's lacrosse (3.408), women's lacrosse (3.541), women's swimming and diving (3.506) and men's track and field (3.407).

Coach Kevin Curtin's men's track team earned the honor for the 11th time since the award program was instituted in 2009-10. Men's lacrosse, coached by Jim Murphy, received its third straight team academic award and its ninth overall.

Football was honored for the seventh time overall and first time since 2016, and golf was recognized for the sixth time.

Coach Mary Kay Samko's women's swimming and diving team picked up its second straight team academic award and women's lacrosse, under the leadership of Taylor Bastien, gained its first.

Bentley's six awards was tied with Adelphi University for the most in the conference, and Pace University followed with five.
