10 Selected for Bentley Athletic Hall of Fame

WALTHAM, Mass. – Ten former student-athletes, representing eight different sports, have been selected for the Bentley University Athletic Hall of Fame, Director of Athletics Vaughn Williams announced today. The induction ceremony will be held in the LaCava Center Executive Dining Room on February 4.

The Hall of Fame Class of 2022-23 will include Mackenzie Bernadeau '08 (football), Danielle Chaisson '98 (women's basketball), Marc Eddy '05 (football), Anne Kaduboski '11 (women's swimming), Dallas Mall '05 (football), Alyssa Ritchie '09 (women's lacrosse), Mary Rogers '07 (field hockey), Sean Rotermund '96 (men's lacrosse), Lauren Washington '03 (volleyball) and Jason Westrol '10 (men's basketball).

Six of the ten – Bernadeau, Chaisson, Eddy, Mall, Rogers and Westrol – have previously been inducted into the Northeast-10 Conference Hall of Fame

"I'm thrilled that we will be reinstituting our Athletic Hall of Fame this winter," said Williams. "We have assembled an outstanding class that includes eight All-Americas and we look forward to paying tribute to these standouts in February."

Bernadeau, a Waltham native, was a force on the offensive line for the Falcons from 2004-07 before embarking on an eight-year NFL career that saw him play a total of 111 games for the Carolina Panthers and the Dallas Cowboys. The only NFL draft pick in Bentley history (7th round by the Panthers in 2008), Bernadeau made the American Football Coaches Association and d2football.com first-team All-America teams as a senior as well as the Associated Press Little All-America Team. Twice tabbed as the Northeast-10 Offensive Player of the Year, he was selected for both the Cactus Bowl and the Texas vs. the Nation All-Star Game.

Chaisson finished her Bentley career as the program's number two all-time leading scorer with 1,728 points and currently ranks number five. A six-foot forward out of Norwood, she is also in the top ten in rebounds and is the only player in Falcon women's basketball history with at least 200 blocks and 200 steals. During Chaisson's four years, she helped Bentley to a four-year record of 107-20 with three NCAA Elite Eight appearances, three NCAA Division DII regional titles and three Northeast-10 regular season championships. Bentley's Outstanding Female Senior Athlete and the NE10 Player of the Year in 1998, she was a Kodak/WBCA Division II first-team All-America that year as well.

Eddy and Mall, former high school teammates at Algonquin Regional High School, were a dynamic duo for Bentley football from 2001-04 with their careers featuring NCAA Division II playoff appearances in each of their final two seasons. They led the Falcons to a four-year record of 37-7, and in 2005, they were co-recipients of Bentley's Outstanding Male Senior Athlete Award.

Eddy threw for 11,035 yards and 121 touchdowns in 44 career games, with his TD count an NCAA Division II record at the time and still the ninth most. A second-team d2football.com All-America, the lefthander from Southboro received the 2004 Agganis Award from the New England Football Writers as the top senior football player in New England. Only five times in more than 50 years has a non-Division I player received that prestigious honor. Other accolades included the Zabilski Award as the top Division II-III Offensive Player in New England twice, two-time Northeast-10 MVP, two-time ECAC Division II Player of the Year and national finalist for the 2004 Harlon Hill Award, the Division II version of the Heisman.

Of all the players to ever play college football, no one has ever caught more touchdown passes than Mall. His 78 included 24 as a freshman, breaking an NCAA record owned by Hall of Famer Randy Moss, and is still the most ever by a freshman in any division. He scored an amazing 478 points as a Falcon, 11th most in Division II history and finished with 283 catches for 4,347 yards. The Northboro native was the 2004 Boston Globe Gold Helmet recipient as the top Division II-III player in New England and his list of honors also included AP Little All-America, two-time NE10 Offensive Player of the Year and four-time first-team All-Northeast-10. Mall also received first-team All-America honors from Daktronics, collegesportsreport.com and Don Hansen's Football Gazette.

Kaduboski, who is from Dedham, is the most decorated women's swimmer in Bentley history, having earned Division II All-America honors twice and honorable mention All-America status two other times. She was at her best at the 2011 NCAA Championships when she finished fifth in the 200-yard butterfly, eighth in the 200 backstroke and tenth in the 200 fly. The three-time team MVP was a three-time Northeast-10 champion and an 11-time New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association champion. She earned the Kay Fromer Award in 2011 as the senior woman with the most career points at the NEISDA Championships. More than a decade after completing her collegiate career, Kaduboski still owns five individual Bentley records, including all three in the fly.

Ritchie is the all-time leading scorer in Bentley women's lacrosse history with her 326 points, 198 goals and 128 assists all school records. She owns three of the top four points seasons in program annals, including a record 93 in 2009. The North Andover native also is the Bentley standard-bearer for goals in a season (66 in 2009) and assists in a season (47). Honors for the four-time first-team All-Northeast-10 performer included second team IWLCA Division II All-America in 2007, NE10 Player of the Year in 2009 and conference Freshman of the Year in 2006.

While Ritchie is Bentley's career scoring leader in women's lacrosse, Rogers owns that same distinction in field hockey. The four-time NFHCA Division II All-America, who came to campus from nearby Watertown, amassed 85 goals, 35 assists, 205 points and 21 game-winners while helping the Falcons to a 71-21 record. She finished her career as the number one scorer in NCAA Division II history and currently ranks eighth all-time. Rogers led the team in goals and points all four seasons, was twice recognized as the Northeast-10 Player of the Year and helped Bentley reach the NCAA Division II national championship game as a sophomore and as a senior.

Rotermund was a standout for the men's lacrosse team from 1993-96, the first four varsity seasons in program history and an era in which the Falcons dominated the Northeast-10 (three regular season championships, two tournament titles). Rotermund, who is from Madison, Conn., still ranks second all-time among Falcons in points (238) and goals (149) and has three of Bentley's five highest single season goal totals all-time, including 46 in 1995. The nine goals he scored against Merrimack in 1994 are still a school record today. In each of his final three seasons, Rotermund was voted to the All-Northeast-10 first team.

Washington was a force for the Bentley volleyball team from 1999 to 2002 and was voted to both the All-Northeast-10 first team and the AVCA Division II All-East Region team each of her final three seasons. The Wayne, Pa. native amassed 1,146 kills and 1,342 digs as a Falcon and is one of only two players in program history to rank in the top six in both categories. During the 2001 season, she amassed a school record 458 kills and also set a record, since broken, with 559 digs. That included a school record (since broken) of 41 against UMass-Lowell. Bentley was 63-15 during her final two seasons, including 34-0 against conference foes, and earned an NCAA berth both seasons.

Westrol, during his four years, led Bentley men's basketball to three NCAA Division II Elite Eights, three Northeast-10 regular season championships, two NE10 tournament championships, two seasons in which the only loss came at the Elite Eight, a 118-16 record overall and an amazing 91-11 mark against conference opponents (regular season and postseason). Westrol, who was from Brielle, N.J., was honored as the 2010 NABC Division II National Player of the Year and was only the second player in program history to reach the 2,000 career point mark. Bentley's 2010 Outstanding Male Senior Athlete  was also a two-time NABC State Farm All-America, the Daktronics Division II East Region Player of the Year as a senior and the 2010 Northeast-10 Player of the Year. Remarkably, he was undefeated in his first 54 regular season games and his first 55 against NE10 competition.

The addition of these ten outstanding athletes will bring the number of Bentley Hall of Famers to 157.
