Conference-High 407 Bentley Student-Athletes Qualify for the NE10 Academic Honor Roll

WALTHAM, Mass. – 407 Bentley University student-athletes, a conference high, qualified for the spring 2022 Northeast-10 Academic Honor Roll by achieving a grade point average of 3.0 or better during the semester.

The 407 honorees accounted for 81.6 percent of Bentley's student-athletes who competed in NE10 sports, second only to Adelphi University's 84.3 percent.

This marks the 25th time in the 26 semesters that the NE10 has been recognizing the Academic Honor Roll (formerly Commissioner's Honor Roll) that Bentley has had the most honorees. It's also the 25th time in 26 semesters that Bentley's percentage ranked in the conference's top three.

"The achievements of our student-athletes continue to stand out," said Director of Athletics Vaughn Williams. "I continue to be amazed at their accomplishments in the classroom."

The Northeast-10 splits its Academic Honor Roll into three categories: Academic Excellence for those with a 4.0, Academic Distinction for those between 3.50 and 3.99, and Academic Honors for those between 3.00 and 3.49. Twenty-one Falcons received Academic Excellence, a conference-best 222 Academic Distinction and 164 Academic Honors.

Earning Academic Excellence were Kaitlyn Arce (women's lacrosse), Ben Baldasaro (men's lacrosse), Marc Disalvo (football),  Cole Duval (men's track and cross country), Nelson Eaton (golf), Bri Gillen (women's basketball), Lauren Giordano (women's soccer), Jeremy Glick (men's diving), Abigail Hewes (field hockey), Ella Hillier (softball), Evie Houston (women's track and field), Kayli Keenan (women's lacrosse), Samantha Martel (women's track and cross country), Megan Niedzwiecki (women's track and field), Amanda Parker (volleyball), Elise Periera (softball), Keaton Roarick (men's lacrosse), Makena Romagnano (women's tennis), Devin Smith (men's lacrosse), Emily Sweet (women's swimming) and Cleo Zhou (women's swimming).

Pereira and Roarick also achieved Academic Excellence during the fall 2021 semester.

Four Bentley teams had 100 percent representation on the NE10 Academic Honor Roll, including all 19 members of the women's soccer team who weren't studying abroad. The others who had all their student-athletes achieve a 3.0 or better were volleyball, women's cross country and women's tennis.

In addition, men's cross country, men's track and field, softball and women's swimming all had at least 90 percent on the Academic Honor Roll.
