Morena & Burke Bentley’s Top Finishers in Season-Opening Dartmouth Invitational

HANOVER, N.H.  – Juniors Julia Morena (Boylston, Mass./Tahanto Reg. HS) and Katie Burke (Braintree, Mass./Braintree HS) were the top two finishers for the Bentley University women's cross country team during Saturday morning's Dartmouth Invitational at the Hanover Country Club.

In the Falcons' 2015 debut, Morena was 30th overall, clocking a 24:08.24 over the 6,000-meter course. Burke crossed the line in 24:31.68, five places back of her teammate.

Bentley, which was without two of its expected top runners, was last in the team standings of the five-team competition, posting a score of 131. Dartmouth College, which had the first ten finishers, posted a perfect 15 to win its own invitational comfortably, with Keene State (55) second, Middlebury (74) third and UMass-Lowell (115) fourth.

Dartmouth's Dana Giordano ran to the individual championship with her time of 21:33.81 besting runner-up Leigh Moffett by about seven seconds.

Bentley's next competition is the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational next Saturday.
