Coskren Top Finisher for Bentley Women in Shacklette Invitational
MANCHESTER, N.H. – Sophomore Danielle Coskren (North Andover/North Andover HS) was the top finisher for the Bentley University women's cross country team during the Shacklette Invitational at Saint Anselm College Saturday.
On a very hot and humid afternoon, Coskren covered the 5,000-meter course in 21:18.4 to place 35th overall. Classmates Katie Burke (Braintree/Braintree HS) and Julie Morena (Boylston/Tahanto Reg. HS) were the other Falcons to break 22 minutes with Burke 41st in 21:31.0 and Morena 44th in 21:43.3.
Bentley, which did not enter several of its top runners, was eighth of nine in the team standings. Stonehill College took first with its score of 62 ten better than runner-up Assumption College.
St. Michael's Chloe Boutelle, who broke the tape in 18:51.7, took individual honors with a winning margin of nearly 15 seconds.
Bentley's next action is the UMass-Dartmouth Shriners' Invitational on Sept. 20.
