Coskren First Bentley Woman Across Finish Line in Shacklette Invitational

MANCHESTER, N.H.  – Freshman Danielle Coskren (North Andover/North Andover HS), competing in her first-ever cross country race, was the first Bentley University women's runner across the finish line as the Falcons opened their season at the Saint Anselm College-hosted Shacklette Invitational Saturday.

Coskren, who played soccer in the fall while in high school, completed the 5,000-meter course in 21:05.7 to place 33rd overall.

Bentley's other runner in the top 50 was junior Nikki Sirignano (Wilmington/Wilmington HS), 46th in 21:37.6.

Bentley didn't run its projected top four, a group that includes three past All-Conference honorees, and as a result, was last among eight teams in the overall standings.

Stonehill College dominated, winning the team title by 47 points after placing seven in the top 12, including individual champion Elizabeth LaRegina (19:03.6).

Next Saturday, Bentley will be in Hanover, N.H. for the predominantly Division I-Dartmouth Invitational.
