Lopp & Murphy Honored by Northeast-10, Again

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University senior setter Xio Lopp (Kalispell, Mont./Flathead HS) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Setter of the Week for the third straight week and her teammate, freshman outside hitter Ingrid Murphy (Cotuit/Barnstable HS), was a repeat choice for NE10 Volleyball Rookie of the Week accolades.

Lopp totaled 98 assists, an average of 10.89, and also produced 2.44 digs, 1.33 kills, 0.67 blocks and 1.78 points per set during a 2-0 week. She had a career-high 51 assists at The College of Saint Rose, along with six kills, nine digs and three blocks in a 3-1 victory. At Le Moyne College in a five-set victory Saturday afternoon, her stat line included 47 assists, six kills in 11 swings (.545), 13 digs, three blocks and an ace.

Lopp has climbed to second in the NE10 in assists with a 9.55 average and is the only player in the region averaging eight assists and 0.50 blocks per set.

Murphy, in the two wins, averaged 2.67 kills, 2.67 digs, 3.28 points, 0.44 aces and 0.33 blocks while hitting at a .257 success rate. She had 13 kills, 12 digs, five assists, three aces and a block at Saint Rose and finished with 11 kills, 12 digs, two blocks, two assists and an ace in the Le Moyne win.

Murphy's season averages include 2.06 kills and 2.81 digs.

The Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll included senior middle blocker Rachel Bruno (San Diego, Calif./Francis Parker School), a co-captain and two-time All-Conference honoree who ranks second in the NE10 in hitting. She hit .305 while averaging 2.67 kills, 1.56 blocks and 3.61 points during the week. Bruno had 12 kills and seven blocks in both matches.

Bentley has reached the 20-win plateau for the first time since 2008, is undefeated in nine conference games and owns a 15-match winning streak, the program's longest since a school-record 35-match streak in 1988.

The next match for the 20-4 Falcons is at home Friday (5:30 pm) against Adelphi University.
